What is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP using the form above as soon as possible.
Can you help me understand the dress codes?
Chinese Banquet (Semi-Formal): Men can wear a suit jacket or blazer with dress pants. Women can wear a short or floor-length dress. Bright, celebratory colors (such as gold, red, pink, purple, and orange) are traditional for all. Please do not wear white, green, or dull tones.
Ceremony and Reception (Black Tie Optional): Men may wear a tuxedo, or a dark (black or navy) suit. Women can choose a formal evening gown, a shorter formal cocktail dress, or dressy separates. Please do not wear a white outfit.
Farewell Brunch (Festive): Consider a daytime dressy outfit. Examples include linen suits or sundresses. Guests are welcome to add a splash of color (bows, silk scarf or ties, and pocket squares).
How do I obtain a UK ETA?
Although US citizens do not require a visa, you must apply for a UK Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) at least 3 days before leaving for the UK. You can do so at this UK government website.
Where should we stay?
We are partnering with the Pan Pacific London, one of London’s premier hotels and which is located steps from both Liverpool Street Station and our wedding and brunch venues. You can book under our group rate of £485 per night on their website with our group rate preference code “2507BROOCK”, or by calling +44 (0) 20 7118 6888. We also recommend the following nearby hotels as alternatives: Andaz London Liverpool Street, The Bull and the Hide, and the Great St Helen Hotel (the most budget-friendly option). However, London’s public transit is excellent, so reaching our venues will be straightforward regardless of where you choose to stay.
Are children invited?
Respectfully, adults only for Friday and Saturday’s events. We will introduce parents bringing children to London to each other and attempt to facilitate shared childcare.
Do you have a gift registry?
The honor of your presence in London is the most meaningful gift. For those who still wish to give us a gift, the Chinese wedding tradition is to gift cash in red envelopes, and the Jewish tradition is to give to a charity in our names (such as to Frameline, where Alex is a board member). However, your well-wishes and presence are truly all we desire.
We kindly request no physical gifts.
Do you have any recommendations for activities during the day in London?
London is David and Alex’s favorite city in the world. Here are a few recommendations for a nice day in London:
Stroll around Hyde Park, Kew Gardens, Regent’s Park, or along the Thames
Enjoy a meal at Dishoom (multiple locations) or Borough Market
Shop on Regent Street, and don’t miss Harrod’s in Knightsbridge
Explore history at the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey
Visit the British Museum or Tate Modern
How should I get around London?
We suggest arriving in London before noon on Friday, July 4.
Public transit is more convenient than taxis or rideshares in London. Google Maps transit directions are the most reliable guide.
Credit cards can be tapped on fare gates without the need to buy tickets. Avoid using a credit card which charges a foreign transaction fee.
How should I get to your venues?
London Heathrow airport (LHR) to City of London (Wedding Ceremony venue, Farewell Brunch venue, and recommended hotels): Take Elizabeth Line to Liverpool Street station.
City of London to Canary Wharf (Chinese Banquet): Take Elizabeth Line to Canary Wharf station, followed by an approximately 10 minute walk.
Am I invited to all of the activities listed above?
Yes.
How can I contact you with any other questions?
You can email David at david.broockman@gmail.com.
